Here at Jackson Veterinary Clinic, we are proud to offer cold laser therapy.
We are always learning new and better ways to treat our patients. We also are dedicated to using the latest veterinary technologies. One way we do this is by providing cold laser therapy for our patients.

Cold laser therapy is a state-of-the-art alternative therapy to assist with pain and healing. It can be used after surgery to help increase blood flow to local areas, improving healing. For this same reason, it is also helpful for wound healing. Cold laser therapy can also be used for chronic pain, helping to increase blood flow to those areas. We have also seen great success in using this therapy for patients with kidney failure.

Don’t hesitate to contact us today at (770) 775-5710 if you would like to know how your pets can benefit from our cold laser therapy.

Advanced Digital X-rays

At Jackson Veterinary Clinic in Jackson, GA , we are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool we use to look inside the body in an entirely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body's organs. In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pet's body that we otherwise could not see. It's a valuable diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness.

The images produced by digital radiography are of much better quality than film radiographs and can be manipulated digitally, giving us the best possible radiographic information to help us diagnose your pets.

The use of radiology is safe, and our entire staff is highly trained. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of medical care possible, and this is just one of the many ways we achieve that.

Geriatric Care

Preventative medicine is important when our pets are young, but as our pets age, and become prone to certain disease processes, annual exams and blood work becomes even more critical.

Annual exams and blood work to check liver and kidney values, along with thyroid function have the potential to alert us to early changes that may give us valuable information about your pet's health. We understand the changes your pet will have as they become older, and we also know the importance of keeping your pet healthy as they enter their golden years.

Please call us today at (770) 775-5710 to learn more about caring for your senior pet.

Health Certificates

Jackson Veterinary Clinic is proud to offer USDA certificates for international travel.

If you want to travel internationally with your pet, you need to plan ahead. Since each country is different, you will have to contact the embassy or consulate where you are going to find out what you need to do.

Though every country has different requirements, most require a health certificate that is done by a USDA-accredited veterinarian. Luckily, we have a USDA-accredited veterinarian. If you are not a client, you need to make sure you bring your pets' records with you to the examination.

At the time of your pets' examination, we will go over the forms that you need. There are times when we will have to run some tests to ensure that your pet is healthy enough for travel. We may also have to treat your pet prior to traveling.

You will always need a health certificate and proof of vaccination. You may also need a microchip and blood tests. Many countries require that your pet get treated for parasites prior to travel. You may also need certificates for the airplane ride.

Since each country is different and we can’t stay up to date will all of the changes in each one, it is important that you call ahead and know what you need. Then, we will make sure that your pet is all ready to go!

If you have any questions about USDA accreditation, USDA health certificates, or traveling internationally with your pet, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (770) 775-5710.

Dental Care Jackson, GA

Dental Care

At Jackson Veterinary Clinic, we take your pet’s oral health seriously. We provide dental scaling, which is a process that removes tartar buildup, preventing further complications of the mouth. The bacteria in the mouth not only cause tooth loss, but more importantly, they can enter into the bloodstream and infect the heart, liver and kidneys ( and other organs as well). Occasionally, removal of teeth is required, either in the case of an infection or compaction of adult and baby teeth. After the dental cleaning is done we help to prevent future problems by sending your pet home with his or her very own dental kit that contains samples to help keep your pet's teeth healthier longer!

Your pet’s teeth will be examined by the Doctor when you come in for their annual exam. At that time, he will advise you as he sees fit. If you have any questions, at this time or any other, please feel free to ask the Doctor or one of the technicians. Taking care of your pet’s teeth now will save the both of you trouble in the long run.
Remember: the sooner you take care of the teeth ( at the first sign of tartar or gum redness) the easier the procedure will be for the pet. Postponing a recommended dental cleaning only allows more bacteria to be released into the blood stream and tartar builds up on tartar, forming a hard to remove coating to the teeth.
